Plaquimet Brasil is born

Britec is the benchmark gelcoat in the Argentine market. The model plant inaugurated in Burzaco two years ago increased its installed production capacity to 6,000 tons per year and continues to open new paths for growth in Latin America.

With high quality, efficiency and safety standards, the Britec line has become a protagonist in the region. These high performance gelcoats complement the Polymet line of polyester resins, two brands adopted by large customers in the Brazilian market.

But the “Integrated Solutions” model that defines Plaquimet is much more than quality products. The focus on customer needs, constant technical assistance and training are key elements to become a strategic partner for industrial development.

Thus, in response to the need for greater proximity to customers, Plaquimet Brasil was born. A team of experts in different applications of composite materials and professionals who develop customized products is added to a new local production plant.

The new subsidiary is located in the state of Santa Catarina and ensures greater efficiency in deliveries and proximity to customers, in addition to internationally recognized brands, with which there are regional representation agreements, with local assistance and stock: Swancor vinylester resins, Diab cores and Akpa catalysts, among others.

Plaquimet Brazil is already active and looking for our Integrated Solutions to continue growing in the region.

OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH DIAB

For 75 years Diab has been a leader in the core materials industry, and now, thanks to this exclusive distributor agreement, we look forward to strengthening our position together throughout Latin America.

This alliance will provide the entire industry in the region with stronger, lighter and smarter cores, adapted to the needs of the market and with the technical support and advice to make the most of them.

Used transversally in sectors such as transportation, industrial, maritime, construction and wind energy, structural foam cores and composite materials are being integrated into almost all sectors to achieve structural, self-supporting and more sustainable parts.

Sandwich structures are lighter, stronger and easier to shape than traditional materials such as aluminum, steel and wood. Composite materials can be bent, curved and joined in a virtually unlimited range of configurations.

In addition, their durability and weather resistance translate into lower long-term maintenance and cleaning costs. These high-strength, lightweight materials are ideal for virtually any industrial application.

A key part of our integrated solutions is to bring together leading strategic partners to complement our products and help us develop the composites market together.

Polymet renews its name

In 2025 our Polymet resins will renew their names, changing them to be simpler and more memorable. This change does not affect the characteristics and specifications, which remain unchanged.

Reaching more countries is the opportunity to re-order ourselves and continue growing. Bringing our integrated solutions throughout Latin America opens doors to new international alliances and encourages us to look for new ways to communicate our products.

For this reason, we will simplify the names of our resins to just four numbers. To give us time to remember them and facilitate the transition until December 31, the labels will continue to bear the names by which everyone knows them today.

But this is not the only change, the presentation of plastic bins will now contain 1100 kilos, contributing to the care of the environment and reducing the carbon footprint. In addition, now they will all be black, this responds to the search for continuous improvement, since it has been demonstrated that being dark maximizes the stability of the resins.

The Plaquimet team is here to accompany you in this process, providing technical data sheets or answering any questions that may arise.

Our customer service Whatsapp is active from Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm, to channel any questions or help. In our website you can find the link to contact us and the number is

Plaquimet Chile is expanding

This year marks the first ten years of our integrated solutions in Chile, where our Polymet Resins and Britec Gelcoats are already synonymous with quality and reliability.

Seeking to broaden horizons and generate new links, Plaquimet chile will become the base to reinforce our presence in Peru and Bolivia.

This new channel of attention applies to all our commercial alliances, offering not only our products but also Swancor Vinylester Resins, Diab core materials and Akpa catalysts, among others.

In addition to the first line products, we always provide training and technical support to accompany each implementation and seek to strengthen the universe of composite materials in the region.

Adding this initiative to the start of activities of the Plaquimet Brazil Plant and the already consolidated position in Argentina. Plaquimet strengthens its position in the region and seeks to continue growing in new markets.
